The Anniversary Project explores the lives of 20 different Canadian children living below the poverty line. Nance Ackerman, who previously collaborated with Stitch Media as a writer for Redress Remix, is the director of this meaningful project. Her NFB-produced film Four Feet Up offers an intimate portrait of a child and his family’s struggle with poverty and serves as the inspiration for The Anniversary Project. Both the film and The Anniversary Project launched on the 20 year anniversary of the Canadian government’s promise to end child poverty.

Combining stunning photography, powerful music, and stop motion portraits, The Anniversary Project beautifully explores the lives of 20 children, allowing their voices to be heard as they share their experiences with poverty. The multifaceted project also provides resources for those facing similar struggles or who wish to help.

The National Parks Project aims to reconnect Canadians with the wondrous wilderness that lies at the heart of their national identity through a digital re-introduction to Canada’s finest natural spaces.

Starring polar bears in Manitoba, rare birds along Point Pelee and the shimmering salmon of Kluane in the Yukon, the NPP initiates an unprecedented collaboration

involving more than 75 of Canada’s most acclaimed filmmakers and musicians (2 filmmakers and 4 musicians per park) to create thirteen 6-minute short films showcasing the artists’ visceral responses to these designated sanctuaries, and to each other.

Survivorman Online is an interactive website and game that follows Les Stroud as he braves the elements in some of the world’s harshest conditions. Based on the OLN television series Survivorman, the online elements will allow participants to put themselves into his shoes and play along.

A blend of exclusive video footage and casual games allows a player to understand the trials of wilderness survival. Balancing thirst, hunger and the elements, the users must be vigilant to ensure that they survive long enough to find rescue. An interactive series told over seven days in the wild, the experience parallels the television series. Although there are countless games based on surviving a battlefield situation, very few concentrate on a much more important lesson – understanding man’s relationship to nature. Survivorman Online will be a training tool as well as entertainment as it teaches many valuable concepts of orienteering and triage in emergency situations.
